Wat Mongkolratanaram
Not a restaurant per se. But we plan trips around ending up at the Thai Buddist temple for brunch on Sundays! Fundraiser for the temple and some delicious food. My son, now a freshman at Cal, introduced his friends to it. So they bus over there often. I recommend bringing your own to-go containers as you will have leftovers. Cash only.

Thanks, Camilla, for posting this recommendation! I'm hoping to be able to visit Berkeley this summer, and will be sure to get to the Sunday brunch, perhaps with some of the rest of you who live in the area (but others needn't wait for me, of course
). Though I didn't know much about Buddhism when I was a Cal student, I accidentally (long story) found myself a few years after graduating in a class on the subject while working at the University of Waterloo, in southern Ontario (an hour's drive west of Toronto) in the mid 1970s. That experience greatly affected the way I think about many subjects, and how I try to live my life. It's on my "to do" list to learn even more about the Buddhist way of life, and perhaps try more seriously than I have in the past to cultivate a personal meditation practice. There are many people from Thailand here in the Boston area, some of whom are my own neighbors.
Anyway, there's a short Wikipædia article about the Wat Mongkolratanaram temple, as well as such things as reviews on Yelp. There's also a good short illustrated article here.

Oh, this is a great recommendation! This was very much the "cool thing" to do on weekends when I was at Cal (class of 2015), and I'm so pleased to hear the tradition continues.
